Videogames.com’s History of Video Games presents us with a complete and carefully written historical timeline about video games.
My experience kicks in Christmas, 1975. That was the year my father bought me a Coleco Telstar that played 4 games in one; tennis, hockey, handball, jai-alai. Mine was the real deal, not the one repackaged under Sears brand as the “Sears Telstar.” Mine was also unique because it was actually green against black not light grey against black as it’s contemporaries were. I never saw another one like it. I think, althought you’d have to ask him, he paid a pretty penny for the unit and carried this unit in from a trip to Japan, or other Asian country. It was not for sale here in the U.S.
I played it furiously every day for years. The last time that I played the unit, was in 1989. I miss it very much. That started my love of arcade gaming and it continues to this day.
