Okay now it’s getting stupid.
Okay now it’s getting stupid. What started as an experiment in coding (I’d imagine) has grown so many spin-off sites, it’s just not really all that interesting anymore. Although it is proving my point… give people something useless to click on and they’ll just click-click-click away for hours on end.

While looking for cool concept
While looking for cool concept cars to post pictures of, I ran across this: Chaos Breaks Out At Cobo Hall in Detroit during the North American Auto Show. We went last year… I half-heartedly entertained the notion of going today… good thing we didn’t. Typical, I wonder when they are just going to close Detroit down and it’s illustrious annexes, Flint and Saginaw?

Report: Bush Says He May
Report: Bush Says He May Cancel Late Clinton Moves “We’ve got lawyers looking at every single issue, every single opportunity” to reverse actions taken by Clinton in the waning weeks of his presidency, Bush was quoted as saying.
“I understand the Western mentality and I want the Western mentality represented in this administration,” Bush told the New York Times today. WTF?
While searching for justification of Gee Dubbya’s support, nomination, and eventually being handed the election, the other day it occured to me… that this man exists simply as a personification of the Republican party’s blind knee jerk lashing out against 8 years of the Clinton administration. This is the sum total of 8 years of anger, resentment, and frustration that Starr & Co. (TM) were unsucessful. He has been appointed to the presidency by the supreme court and it does not matter if he is even coherent (which he is not). All he has to be is alive, awake (some of the time), and able to recite (coherantly or not) the party rhetoric.
McCain or Bradley were the exact opposite of what the party needed. Bush is a fall guy for the 4 years of misery and presidential stupidity that will follow. When the 2004 election comes, McCain, Bradley, or anyone else will seem as if a minor messiah to us. Gore will simply be pathetic. Very clever, very clever indeed.

someone’s lost diary was found
someone’s lost diary was found sort of just lying on the street. The finder painstakingly retyped it and posted it on the web. Read it, it rambles a bit, it’s disturbing in places, but it’s a very close and compelling character study of a young, pregnant, anonymous girl. Wow… that’s all I can say (found on memepool).

theITquestion.com – What is ‘IT’?
theITquestion.com – What is ‘IT’? The book proposal referred to one. However, the leaked proposal quoted several prominent technology leaders out of context, without their doubts, risks and maybes included. This, together with spirited speculation about the unknown, has lead to expectations that are beyond whimsical. We have a promising project, but nothing of the earth shattering nature that people are conjuring up.

“IT” may be a scooter. Every tech news site has been buzzing with curiosity over the so called, IT. Jobs, Bezos and others got a chance to view this marvel that will supposedly revolutionize all of mankind. We’ll see… my guess is that it should be pretty cool at least.

NSA abandons wondrous stuff: Astronomers who took over an abandoned spy base find remarkable, expensive and often incomprehensible stuff at every turn. I’d imagine that this is only one of many such facilities across the world.

Seattle Times: Anonymous monolith brings
Seattle Times: Anonymous monolith brings a landmark movie to mind. Showing up in a park in Seattle on the first day of 2001, the monolith has now owner or explaination… let alone permission from the city to put it there. All this aside, it’s still super-duper cool.
