Blogvoices stays open. “Due to an overwhelming response from BlogVoices users and the incomparable generosity of a small start-up in San Francisco California, BlogVoices will not be “closing its doors.” Instead, the source code and database will be relocated to Pyra Labs, where it will continue to serve the Blogger community.”

E-Groups was aquired by Yahoo
E-Groups was aquired by Yahoo quite some time ago. The conversion of Egroups to Yahoo is underway as I post this. They have formed a new service called Yahoo! Groups that is now in operation. There will be no change for paxtonland members, the group will still function exactly the same. Just thought I’d let you know.

OfficeMax to donate 500 computer
OfficeMax to donate 500 computer keyboard ‘W’ keys and 100 full keyboards to white house to keep the wheels of government moving. Thank god. Evidently, the entire exClinton staff ran amok on the way out of the white house. I’d imagine they even left the toilet seats up too!

It looks like blogvoices.com is
It looks like blogvoices.com is going to shut down. I knew that this could happen and I’m not really suprised.
What that means for us is that soon we’ll have no way to make comments to the links and postings that show up here on paxtonland. I’m sorry about this. I’ll be able to save all of your comments, they will not be lost by any means.
That really brings me to face the eventuality that paxtonland.com needs a better, faster and more permanent host. I cannot continue to host it here at ais.org. They are not really up to the bandwidth requirements that this site needs. They’ve been polite about my disk usage and outgoing transfer totals. But, it’s time for me to move on. Additionally, this is a community based club/hobbyist organization and not designed to do what I’m doing with it. I don’t have the ability to do the programming nessescary here to provide the level of interactivity that paxtonland really needs.
Rich and I are actively looking for an affordable host that both paxtonland.com and fusinski.com can reside on. I’d like the ability to have our families and friends to keep their sites there as well. So far, it looks like cihosts.com (thanks to dan for turning us on to them) has the best packages, however, they don’t come cheap. Give us time to make the transition and find the cash to make it as well.
Meanwhile, paxtonland will continune on here as it always has until we make a decision. The best thing about the move is that we’ll have a lot more freedom to build a much more user-friendly and interactive interface so that we won’t have to rely on outside resources such as blogger (which is a fine service by all means) and blogvoices to provide the nice forum for communication that we have here.
paxtonland.com and fusinski.com are semi-private, members only communities of family and friends that come here because we are all smart, funny, and expert site hunters and policital commentators. I don’t want that to suffer and it means enough to me to do what it takes to keep things going.
I’ll post news as there it breakss. Stay tuned.

When Clinton took office, he
When Clinton took office, he fought for gay rights… today, in his first day Bush to ban funds to groups offering abortion. Bush opposes abortions except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the pregnant woman, although he supported a Republican party platform calling for an absolute ban on abortion. He said on the campaign trail he would sign legislation outlawing “partial birth” abortion.
Secondly, he is making good on his promise to support his greedy oil company friends, by allowing them to drill for new oil in wildlife refuges by creating a national energy policy that will knock down the existing roadblocks…
The fun has only just begun.

The abandoned missile base VR
The abandoned missile base VR tour is kind of cool, it’s been linked here before, but I thought I’d post it again. Some of these sites are for sale, though I can’t find the link for the realtor that was selling several of them. I remember that the sites included fully functional and attractive homes on the surface with massive generators, storage tanks, pumps for the silos, plus all of the electrical, communications, and plumbing infrastructure to support them. Very intersting indeed. If I/you find the link we’ll post it…

Thinking back the past few months… Detroit is not healty for shoplifters, marriages, or for people on the wrong side of cops.
