It looks like blogvoices.com is going to shut down. I knew that this could happen and I’m not really suprised.

What that means for us is that soon we’ll have no way to make comments to the links and postings that show up here on paxtonland. I’m sorry about this. I’ll be able to save all of your comments, they will not be lost by any means.

That really brings me to face the eventuality that paxtonland.com needs a better, faster and more permanent host. I cannot continue to host it here at ais.org. They are not really up to the bandwidth requirements that this site needs. They’ve been polite about my disk usage and outgoing transfer totals. But, it’s time for me to move on. Additionally, this is a community based club/hobbyist organization and not designed to do what I’m doing with it. I don’t have the ability to do the programming nessescary here to provide the level of interactivity that paxtonland really needs.

Rich and I are actively looking for an affordable host that both paxtonland.com and fusinski.com can reside on. I’d like the ability to have our families and friends to keep their sites there as well. So far, it looks like cihosts.com (thanks to dan for turning us on to them) has the best packages, however, they don’t come cheap. Give us time to make the transition and find the cash to make it as well.

Meanwhile, paxtonland will continune on here as it always has until we make a decision. The best thing about the move is that we’ll have a lot more freedom to build a much more user-friendly and interactive interface so that we won’t have to rely on outside resources such as blogger (which is a fine service by all means) and blogvoices to provide the nice forum for communication that we have here.

paxtonland.com and fusinski.com are semi-private, members only communities of family and friends that come here because we are all smart, funny, and expert site hunters and policital commentators. I don’t want that to suffer and it means enough to me to do what it takes to keep things going.

I’ll post news as there it breakss. Stay tuned.
