Attention Dan: To hell with buying a new stereo, check out the Audio ReQuest ARQ1-30 MP3 Server. 10,000 mp3 capacity, 30 gigs of storage (wonder if you can upgrade that when nessescary), TV interface, connects to a LAN for PC control, and more… all for a mere $1,200 bucks…. or, go for the smaller, 20 gig version for $799.95. (really, I wonder if you can hack into that and drop in a bigger drive, Maxtor has an 80gig drive now).
