I Hate Spam too, but…
I read this morning that a Virginia judge sentenced a spammer to nine years in prison for spamming. He was clearing about 750k a month in income from his spam business, using multiple T1’s and many networks of computers (obviously), and apparently sending out tens of millions of e-mails a day. The law he was convicted under is only two weeks old and is under serious question for constitutional implications. I have no idea, based on the articles I’ve read, what kind of spammer this person was. If he was sending out phishing e-mails, then nine years is a fitting…

Probably, you’ve noticed a few changes around here. Some of these changes were badly needed for many years now. Most importantly, standardizing on a somewhat modern and readable design. Beef With Picasa
I will grant that Picasa is a very nice image indexing/categorizing program. It even does some mild form of editing. It’s particularly good at organizing pictures for folks that have a hard time keeping these things straight. So, I installed the first version and upgraded to the second version. A quick glance at the Nashville radio station, 94FM “The Fish,” reveals not one mention of the man charged, Chris Ruleman, who started the station 10 years ago. So, I’ve been doing some work for CampaignAssistant.com. They’ve come up with a unique way to sell ad space, auction it. It’s creating a stir in the ad world, particularly politically focused ad spaces. Publishers who need to sell ad space, check this stuff out… advertisers looking to sell ads, you especially should check this out. We’re using eBay for now to do this but, we’re looking for alternatives and ways to keep it within our system. So, if you know of a good auction package, preferably PHP-based, let me know.
