Read the Computer Vision Syndrome FAQ. I think I have it… not suprising really. Bill O’Reilly takes on bloggers, he will crush you. Not suprisingly, the 1918 flu pandemic was also a bird flu. My grandmother raised me with horror stories about this. Her father carted her all over the country trying to stay ahead of the migration across the country. It worked, she died 80 years later naturally.

Business Exxon’s $10B fill-up: Cashing in on crunch. 10 billion in 3 months… that’s like $111,111,111.12/per day. Note that they are also spending about $5 billion a quarter buying back their own shares.

‘Terra’ Is Where The Heart Is
September 11th. Again. Um. Yeah. Ushered in a new era of “Terrorism Awareness.” All of that disaster preparedness training, an entirely new branch of the government, and an “experienced” administration. Yet we still couldn’t pull a few people out of the water in time to save their lives. They tried to put all of that emergency response stuff in a jar, shake it up and pour it on a natural disaster. God help us. I don’t believe in terrorism, I won’t drink that Kool-Aid anymore. It gives me an upset stomach. “I don’t believe in ‘isms,’ I only believe in…

The Endless Hurricane Season
Don’t look now. 24 more storms coming, 4 major ones. Wal-to-wall-Mart is in serious trouble. Good thing we’ve got that Iraq thing down pat.

Let’s Roll
Troops, police deployed to stop looting. I see a new and exciting way in which White Amurica can continue to justify racism. People finding and taking food, that has already been written off in the insurance books, in order to eat and survive. I’m so glad that they can sit in the comfort of their own cool, dry, well-stocked homes and decide right from wrong. Hooray for Freedom Bread!

I Have Gas Pains
Gas Prices Set Another Record, Could Rise While gas prices usually peak in August, any major disruption to oil production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico caused by Hurricane Katrina could keep prices high even longer. The storm was heading for New Orleans Sunday with 175-mph winds and a threat of a 28-foot storm surge. I guess it’s not so selfish

Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Could Leave 1 Million Homeless. Holy crap… I know this sounds selfish, but I wonder what this will do to gas prices?

Personal Democracy Forum
Joe is at the Personal Democracy Forum in person. As I type this, I’m in the chatroom that is being projected into the conference. This guy came in and splattered the party with typical abusive and demeaning right wing vitriol. Ah well, that is what personal democracy is all about. On the other hand, the guy from slantpoint was there to represent the right as well as himself and he was a gentleman, kudos to him.
