Today, I got an e-mail with a form embedded (click the image for a larger view) inviting me to confirm my ICQ identity. The message came from a turkish system with the I.P. address 213.14.61.167. It’s probably a dial-up user, using a Microsoft operating system, sending this clever e-mail from a small mail server located on his local machine. Simply, he is sitting back harvesting ICQ UIN’s (for whatever reason). If you get this message, ignore it and delete it. I don’t think this is related to my own recent ICQ UIN theft (which I recovered). But, I’m curious as to the sudden interest in ICQ UIN’s. Odd… anyone with any insight into this, please enlighten me.
