Take note that everyone is chattering about Dennis Miller joining the Bush cheerleader squad. But, we’ve seen this coming for quite some time. Especially since he voiced his opinions on Gulf Wars II – The Phantom Menace, in which he essentially states that “war is unavoidable and needed because all Arabs are terrorists that should be quickly conquered and placed into servitude” or, even better (an actual quote) “I would call the French scum bags, but that, of course, would be a disservice to bags filled with scum.” Wonderful, perhaps the democrats can find an insane homeless man to counter Mr. Miller’s effect in the entertainment media. But, that would be a disservice to insane homeless men. I think that this whole thing is especially important, since he’ll be joing Fox (Faux) News, the full-time PNAC promotion network and getting lots of airtime for his self-described brilliance.
So, he’s laid the groundwork nicely for becoming the foul-mouthed, badboy, polititainment franchise for the conservative party. But, wouldn’t they feel differently about signing his paycheck for the re-election trail if they remembered what he said about their revered and hallowed father figure: “They wanted to add Regan’s head to Mount Rushmore, but they apparently couldn’t find a granite that was dense enough.” I’d bet the majority of them would not back him as a mouthpiece if they weren’t trying to get at all us fence-sitting, empty-headed GenX’ers who thrive on sarcastic quotable one-liners.
Oh, well, it’s good to see someone getting a paycheck in this economy, isn’t it?
