Beware of Chiropractors!!!!!!
If anyone out there is receiving chiropractic treatments please take note. I had been receiving chiropractic treatments from a Dr I?ll call Dr.A. about twice a week for the past year. These visits consisted of the Danny Aiello type pelvic rotating body slam and a neck twist like my head was a big catsup bottle cap. About 2 months ago I developed a pain like an ice pick being jammed into my right buttock.
When I complained of this pain I was told I had a swollen disc. When I asked why all of a sudden do I have this I was told I?m sitting too much and I?m getting older. I let him try to fix that for a week or two the thought I would try another chiropractor. This new Dr. was refereed by a dear friend who had also seen Dr. A. The new chiropractor I?ll call Dr. B said that Dr. A was barbaric with all of the body slams and that my dear friend could barely walk from his visits to Dr. A.I was on the same road and he assured me that he would not be so intrusive. Dr. B had a sensor device hooked up to an IMAC that measured the tension between my vertebrae and would only adjust the out of place areas. Instead of the body slams Dr. B used a device that looked like a hand held screw driver with 2 prongs that delivered 20 vibrations a second like a hand held jackhammer to the areas between the out of place vertebrae. He also did something else I had never had done to me. He said based on my X-rays that my neck was out of alignment from an accident I might have had say 30 years ago. He proceeded to slam my neck down into the table. When I stood up I was standing straighter than I had ever stood in my entire life. Dr. B surprised me when he said see ya next month. I was used to Dr. A having me come twice a week. Dr. B said if you start feeling bad come sooner. I lasted about 2 weeks. When I went back Dr. B said my neck and lumbar area were great he used the jackhammer device on the lower area which seemed to help and sent me on my way. Two days later I sneezed. Bad thing to happen. I was in such pain this morning my wife got me in to see the orthopedic surgeon who helped her after an auto accident a year ago. He X-rayed me and said I had a ruptured disc and a pinched nerve. He ordered 6 weeks physical therapy 3 times a week with a 70% chance of complete recovery without surgery. He also said NO CHIROPRACTORS for now.
I like Dr. B with his jackhammer device and may go to him again in a few months when the physical therapy is complete. You would have to hold a gun to my head to see Dr. A again. The moral of the story is if you see a chiropractor who turns you on your side and body slams you run, walk or limp away as fast as you can. Find one that uses the sonar and jackhammer system or an orthopedic surgeon who avoids surgery and tries physical therapy first.
