One thing though. In order to use the latest W3C namespace for XSLT transformations http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform
you need to have the latest version of MSXML (version 3.0) on your machine otherwise *most* of the current XSLT commands will not parse correctly in I.E. 5.0 or 5.5.
This is an example of what I have on my site to construct a hyperlink and what works with the “old” namespace.
<xlink:simpleAnd this is the XSL:
xmlns:xlink=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink”
href=”mailto:joe@joeinternet.net”>
<email>Joe</email>
</xlink:simple>
<a>If a visitor had the latest MSXML then I could simply make an XML link element like this:
<xsl:attribute name=”href”>
<xsl:value-of select=”xlink:simple/@href” />
</xsl:attribute>
<xsl:value-of select=”xlink:simple/email” />
</a>
<webadd>www.joeinternet.net</webadd>I have an example of the “old” namespace that will work with the built in parser for I.E.5.0+. This is the XML page, and here is the XSL page. Now that I have the xlink working correctly, I will be able to construct my 50+ pages of business listings in XML and use only one stylesheet.
and the XSL (with the transform namespace) like this;
<a href=”{concat(‘http://’, webadd)}”>
<xsl:value-of select=”webadd” />
</a>
