Oh my. I like C#. I can see how it is going to combine the “power” of C++ with the ease of Visual Basic and XML. XML is a piece of cake. The real power behind XML is XSLT. XSLT not only allows for the seperation of style from data but has the functionality/power of a programming language. Here is a great “tutorial” for XSLT that I found at Mulberry Tech. This is the “main” tutorial page that lists Zvon tutorials. They include: XML, DTD, Mozilla (XUL), WML, RDF, XSLT, Perl RE, CSS, and Schematron. Just click on the XSLT (XML based scripting language) link. I like the “framed” version. ZVON tutorials.
XML could be very cost beneficial for a “company” building an intranet from scratch. Each department could have a set of “generic” XSL (stylesheets) in which to format multiple (all) XML data documents/information on a daily basis while having multiple styles to choose from depending upon the contents…….right?
