Today Bugs Bunny announced he too was going to run for Governor of California. The 65 year old, longtime California resident was not available for comment at the time of this announcement. Friends speculate that the veteran actor is sick and tired of seeing the nonsense feeding frenzy that, from his perspective, has turned into a media circus. Bugs is a veteran of WWII, a farmer, a race car driver, an opera singer, and most recently a professional basketball player. He was overheard several weeks ago proclaiming, “Eh, if a robot from the future is good enough to run, then so am I.”
It is not known at this time but, it is speculated that the venerable rabbit will run on an independent platform. Little is known about the rabbits platform, agenda, or action items. However, one could probably rest assured that the hare will give all of his opponents a good run in what promises to be a cartoon-like race. This comes on the heels of Schwarzenegger’s announcement on The Tonight Show that he would run in the recall election. The popularity contest between Schwarzenegger and Arianna Huffington has already been declared, by the media, as terminated by Arnold’s announcement.
Insiders speculate that Bugs can easily trump the muscle bound Republicans “star power” by several magnitudes and run him flat in a race for the most populous and wealthy state in the country.
