  • Gore picks running mate Joe

Gore picks running mate Joe Lieberman. Gore picks possibly the most moral guy in the senate. Gore has always had a history of being a little too concerned with what is on the American People’s minds… Besides Tipper, no one can top this guy as to how he’s going to want to control your life, what you read, what you see, what your kids see… he doesn’t want you to make the choices, he’ll do that for you. Take a look at his dismal voting record and choose for yourself. In fact, the only issue in which he voted in favor of privacy, was against the national I.D. card.

Now you have to choose between a coke snorting spoiled brat, and a socialist spoiled brat. Problem is, the running mates they have chosen are both dangerous and professional career politicians as well as lawyers. These are the people who will hold office in 4 years as the most powerful and viable candidates for the presidency.

  • SVG is another stab at

SVG is another stab at standardizing graphics. Macromedia, Sun, IBM, Adobe, Corel, Microsoft (plus more) all got together and tried to agree to standardize graphics formats like, GIF, JPG, PNG, and so on… The SVG project is designed and run by the WC3. You can read more about this stuff from the links below. Yes, there are examples to be seen in at the Adobe site, they do have a cross browser plug in to see the stuff at the main Adobe SVG site. Development support exists for Illustrator 9 (which no one uses anymore). But photoshop 6 will be able to export in SVG. Plus, I’m sure that a whole bunch of SVG plug-ins will emerge as well.

Finally, heres a linkfest of SVG research:

Well, a good place to start picking up information is here ath the W3C Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) main site. An old Webreview article that has good general information, yet is a little out of date. Here is a webmonkey article that is a lot more current and reads a bit better. A Builder.com interview with the guy who runs the thing at the WC3. WDVL (web developers virtual library) article on SVG. An IRTG.org piece that is not too bad. Finally a list of SVG software and software projects from the DMOZ open directory project.

Hope that answers your questions, now get back to work dammit!

  • For those of you who

For those of you who are struggling with the concept of cascading stylesheets and/or what the heck makes them so damn importantcheck out this link. And yes, I know there is a ton of other information on the web regarding css, but I found this one by accident and it cuts though a lot of the crapola with some really clear cut examples. The only *real* book written on the topic is: Cascading Style Sheets, Second Edition: Designing for the Web by Hakon Wium Lie, which I bought the day it hit the stands. Bottom line here is, if you aren’t using css yet, you outta be.

  • I was just taking a

I was just taking a moment playing before leaving the office again and was looking at some old scripts that I had saved. I don’t remember where I got this one but it’s cool. I have to insert a < style > tag but I’ll give it a shot….(it works for me whether I have the style tag in the head or just before the division)

The link goes no where so don’t bother clicking, just mouseover it.

  • Dean, did you ever take

Dean, did you ever take a look at this button I made? I have it in my favorites and in my I.E. links bar. I’ve used it every time I’ve posted lately. Despite the non-error error (huh?) it works flawlessly and makes it easy to post from anywhere. I used on the last two sites (links) that I posted.

I’ve run it through several JavaScript debuggers and they tell me there are no errors (huh? again)

Are you still looking for space? I’m always looking to lower my virtual server space costs. email me, and let me know what you’re looking for…

  • Tom, thanks for the info.

Tom, thanks for the info. Yahoo was easy, I had my site listed in 4 days. Ask Jeeves is really difficult to get listed on. When I submitted they responded by saying that they are basically not accepting “applications”. Thank goodness they time out with other engines! It’s pretty cool to see your site make the cut on Jeeves. I asked Jeeves “Where can I find information about Belleville Michigan?” and I’m number eight on the Excite list. This is the results page. :- )

Here is another good site to help you submit to search engines. You can submit to 40 top search engines for free. Submit Express

  • ICQ finally resorting to

ICQ finally resorting to ads? I’m I the last to know this? I just noticed this about 10 minutes ago. I really can’t imagine why they would do this, do they really need the revenue from this? Do they make AIM users suffer ads too? Click the pic above for a… oh, you know what to do.

Oh well, no big deal really. I guess I really don’t mind so much. They gave us a great program for many years, there’s nothing wrong with covering a few costs, maybe making a buck. My opinion is starting to turn around on this issue. I really am starting to think that open source = socialism. I’m for developers getting paid, not exploited further.

Exploding Whale. Many of you may remember this absolutely true piece of true piece of urban legend. To me this goes so far beyond the wonderful spectacle of organized human stupidity, that it is beyond funny. It’s supernaturally hilarious. Here’s a metafilter post that Jason Kottke posted that confirms the suspicions I had about curry.com and supergreg.com being and looking similar (see below, Saturday, 7/29).
